Directions for best use
Using a diffuser is a simple and effective way to fragrance a room without electricity or an open flame. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up and maintain a reed diffuser with reed sticks.
Step-by-Step Directions:
Choose the Location
Select a spot in your room for the diffuser. Ideally, place it in an area with good air circulation but away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can make the fragrance evaporate too quickly. Avoid placing it near vents or fans, as this can dissipate the scent too fast.
Remove the Stopper
Open the bottle of fragrance oil by removing the stopper,
Insert the Reeds
Insert the reed sticks into the bottle, ensuring that they’re spread evenly. The reeds will absorb the fragrance oil and begin diffusing the scent into the air.
Flip the Reeds (Optional)
For a stronger initial fragrance, flip the reeds after inserting them, so the oil-saturated ends are exposed to the air. Be cautious, as this can sometimes cause the fragrance to be more intense at first.
Adjust the Fragrance Strength
Add or remove reeds based on the scent strength you prefer. More reeds will create a stronger scent, while fewer reeds will make it subtler. For small spaces, start with 4-5 reeds; for larger areas, you might want to use 6-10 reeds.
Refresh the Reeds Weekly
Flip the reeds every week or as needed to refresh the fragrance. Be careful, as the oil on the reeds may stain surfaces or fabrics, so it’s best to do this over a sink or a non-porous surface.
